Analysing Product Promotion Performance

Evaluate how promotions and discounts perform over time.

Introduction

Bepoz’s Product Promotion Summary report allows you to evaluate how active promotions are performing — including how many items have been sold under a promotion, how much discount was applied, and the net revenue impact. This is vital for reviewing the effectiveness of marketing campaigns, menu specials, loyalty offers, or price-based incentives.

  1. Log in to Back Office.

  2. Navigate to Reports > Sales & Analysis.

  3. Select Product Promotion Summary.

  4. Choose your date range and, if needed, a specific store, store group, or promotion group.

Common Use Cases

  • Compare performance of multiple promotions over time.

  • Review high-performing discounts (e.g. “2-for-1 Thursday”).

  • Track whether a campaign increased volume or just reduced revenue.

  • Justify marketing spend by analysing actual uplift in sales.

Best Practices

  • Use Promotion Groups to group related campaigns (e.g., “Summer 2024 Promos”).

  • Run the report at the end of the campaign to evaluate final results.

  • Filter by site or store group to understand regional effectiveness.

  • Combine with sales reports to measure sales uplift versus baseline performance.

FAQs

Q: Can I see which products were included in a promotion?

Yes — the report will group sales by promotion, and you can filter to specific products using Promotion Group or Product filters.

Q: How do I know if a promotion was profitable?

Compare Gross vs. Net Sales, and run a COGS or Margin report for the same products to evaluate profitability.

Q: Are voided or refunded transactions included?

This depends on your reporting settings. Typically, voids are excluded, but refunds may show depending on how they were processed.
