Working with Till Summaries

Review net sales, cash declarations, and labour costs per till.

Introduction

Till Summaries in Bepoz provide a consolidated breakdown of performance per POS terminal or register. These reports help you understand net sales, declared cash, transaction activity, labour cost, and category breakdowns — all crucial for reconciling shifts, monitoring operator activity, and improving venue oversight.

Each summary View offers a different perspective on till activity. This article explains each available view and when to use it.

 


Accessing Till Summaries

  1. Log in to Back Office.

  2. Go to Reports > Sales & Analysis.

  3. Select Till Summaries.

  4. Choose from one of the available views:

    • Nett Sales Comparison

    • Cash Declaration

    • Type View

    • Type Group View

     

Apply filters as needed:

  • Date range

  • Store or Store Group

  • Terminal

  • Operator

Click Generate Report.


🔍 Available Views in Till Summaries

🧾 Nett Sales Comparison View

This is the most commonly used summary and shows total revenue processed at each till, including:

  • Gross Sales

  • Discounts

  • Voids

  • Refunds

  • Net Sales

  • Declared Cash vs. System Expected

💡 Useful for daily reconciliation and operator shift review.


💵 Cash Declaration View

This view focuses on declared takings at the till, showing:

  • Cash Declared by Operator

  • System Expected Amount

  • Variance (Over/Short)

  • Payment Type Breakdown (e.g. cash, EFTPOS, voucher)

💡 Best used to investigate over/short issues or reconcile with banking.


🗂 Type View

Groups sales by Product Type (e.g. Food, Beverage, Merchandise), showing:

  • Net Sales per type

  • Quantity sold

  • Associated discount or void amounts

💡 Ideal for tracking category performance at the register level.

 


🧮 Type Group View

Groups sales by Product Type Group (e.g. Alcohol, Non-Alcohol, Retail), rolling up similar types under a parent group.

💡 Used when analysing broader performance buckets, especially useful for compliance, tax categories, or franchise reporting.

 


Best Practices

  • Use the Nett Sales Comparison View daily for EOD reconciliation.

  • Run the Cash Declaration View when investigating cash handling discrepancies.

  • Pair the Type View with stock reports to check product category performance.

  • Export Till Summaries to Excel and archive by week for audit readiness.
