📄Cash Discounting - A Guide

Overview

Cash discounting has emerged as an increasingly popular strategy in the hospitality industry, offering establishments a method to mitigate rising operational costs while providing value to certain customer segments.

This pricing approach rewards cash-paying customers while helping businesses optimize their financial operations.

Currently, the cash discounting feature is exclusively available to customers using Oolio Pay as their payment provider.

Prerequisites

• Cash Discounting  needs Authorisation and Activation. Contact your Account Manager
• The following Operator Privileges need enabling:

  • The 'General' tab of the Operator Maintenance window controls access to the ‘Cash Discounting’ configuration.

Enabling Cash Discounting

• Navigate to the ‘Store Maintenance’ window.
• Select the ‘Cash Discounting’ tab.
• Check the ‘Enable Cash Discounting’ checkbox to activate the feature.
  • When enabled, all relevant fields become active and allow changes.
  • When disabled, the feature is turned off, and all fields are greyed o

Setting Discount Rates

• Within the ‘Cash Discounting’ tab, you can set the discount percentage (e.g., 2%).
• Choose between product sorts and product types for configuring cash discount percentages.

• A new function button called ‘Set All Discount Rates’ allows setting all fields to the same discounted rate.
• A dropdown menu called ‘Cash Discount Totaliser’ lists all discount totalisers from Venue Settings
