📄Composite Products
This article covers a how-to guide to creating Composite Products in BackOffice.
Overview
Composite Products will be sold as a normal product, but will also sell ALL products set in the condiment list as well.
Composite Products are similar to Package Fixed Products with one difference - the products used in Package Fixed have no relation to each other and are sold as a part of promotion or offer.
This Product Mode is useful in the instance of bottle deposits.
Prerequisites
- To access and manage Products, the applicable Operator Privileges will need to be enabled:
- Products: "View Products" Flag
- Products: "Edit Products" Flag
- General: "Operate Tills" Flag
- Operator Maintenance 'Maintenance' Tab
- Operator Maintenance 'Till Privileges' Tab
Composite Product
- To create a Composite Product, follow these steps while configuring Product Settings:
- Select Composite Product from the Product Mode drop-down in the Header Section
- Click the Condiments button on the Product Settings Tab which will open a new window for Adding, Editing and/or Deleting Condiment items
- In this example, a Normal Product named Bottle Extra (Size 1) has been applied as a condiment to the Beer Box product
- In order to Add the price of Condiment Products in the transaction, the Zero Price flag should be Turned Off
- Bottle Extra has two (2) sizes; the first size is a charge of $2 for bottles and second is a negative (-)$2 after the bottles have been returned
SmartPOS Example
- When the Product is being sold through the Till, the Bottle Extra Charge is automatically Added to the transaction
- Once the bottle has been returned by the customer, the Bottle Charge can be refunded by setting up another product button in the Product KeyMap for Bottle Extra (Size 2)
